Greenway Childcare Services
Greenway provides high quality, affordable Sessional Day Care for pre-school children, from birth until their fourth birthday, as well as childcare provision for students and volunteers attending Greenway Women’s Centre. Our services also include intervention by way of respite care and parent/carer support sessions.
Greenway Women’s Centre currently operates a registered Sessional Day Care facility. Each session lasts 2 hours and children may attend for a maximum of two sessions (4 hours) per day. Our Childcare Services are available between 9am and 2pm, Mondays to Fridays.
At Greenway we value the developmental potential of all children, regardless of their background or abilities. We endeavour to work in partnership with parents/carers to provide care and education that unites us in giving children the best possible start in life. We promote inclusion for all and work with a range of agencies to integrate children with additional needs.
Our aim is to cover the six areas of learning with each child who attends, while encouraging parents/carers to do what they can at home to further enhance, promote and develop these areas:
- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Reasoning, Problem Solving and Numeracy
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
The Greenway Childcare staff team are highly qualified and understand how important it is for parents/carers of young children not to miss out on any part of their child’s development. We are extremely fortunate to have equipment and software which means parents can log in at home and view a detailed profile of observations of their child in a safe and secure manner, enabling us to engage more effectively with parents and giving them a platform for feedback and general comments.
In June each year we hold an annual Celebration Day each year, when all parents, carers, grannies, granddads, aunties, uncles, friends and family are invited to share in their child’s achievements.
It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child – we believe that the village should also celebrate the child’s achievements and so we hold an annual Celebration event, when all parents, carers, grannies, granddads, aunties, uncles, friends and family are invited to share in play and social interaction with the children.

During this time we have developed and implemented best practice policies and procedures which enable us to run our organisation effectively and efficiently, providing our service in a responsible, equitable and respectful way within a welcoming and child friendly environment.
We take our legal responsibilities and ethical obligations seriously and within our childcare facility we promote fun and creative ways of engaging children to learn and develop in an inclusive, non-judgemental, safe environment.
